The first list of 2017 is headed by Algerian Islam Slimani of Leicester City who scored 4 goals, 2 in CAN Finals and 2 in friendly matches. He is followed by 8 players with 3 goals each.
During January and February, 148 goals were scored in 64 international matches including Cup of African Nations 2017 Finals and friendly matches, and 229 goals in 84 matches in continental clubs for UEFA and CONCACAF (2016-17 finals rounds), CAF (2017 Super Cup) and AFC (2017 first rounds). Qualifying rounds for all continental club competitions, and first round for CONMEBOL (per round of 32) are excluded.
