Born 13 june 1957 in Astrakhan, Rinat Dasayev is a Soviet-Russian former goalkeeper who played three World Cups with the Soviet national team.He began his career in Astrakhan with Volgar and played 26 matches with this team (1976/77) before signing with Spartak Moscow in 1977. He played 335 matches (from 1977 to 1988) with this club and won the Soviet championship in 1979 and 1987. He played for the Soviet national team from 1979 to 1990 (91 caps). So he participated at the 1980 Olympic Games in Soviet Union, winning the bronze medal. He appeared in the FIFA World Cups 1982, 1986 and 1990, as well as the Euro 1988, where the Soviet team reached the final. He joined the FC Sevilla in Spain after the Euro 1988 to play 59 matches with the Spanish team from 1988 to 1991. Rinat Dasayev was named the Best Soviet Goalkeeper six times, in 1982 he was crowned as The Soviet Footballer of the Year. He played 91 games for Soviet Union National team, the second best result after Oleg Blokhin.
1988 : he realised great performances with Spartak Moscow and with the Soviet Union National team, reaching the final at the Euro against Netherlands. After Jean-Marie Pfaff, the first Award winner in 1987, he was crowned as THE WORLD’S BEST GOALKEEPER in 1988 by the IFFHS.
Retired in 1991, he was assistant coach with Russia (2003/2005) and Torpedo Moscow (2007/2008) before beginning a career as Goalkeeper coach with Torpedo (2012); Spartak Moscow (2012/2017) and to coach the second team of Spartak since one year.
Rinat Dasayev is considered as the second best Russian Goalkeeper after Lev Yachin, the Legend. In 1999, the IFFHS ranked Rinat Dasaeyv as the 16th greatest European Goalkeeper and the 17th greatest World Goalkeeper of the 20th Century.
