*Netherlands has failed to record a single shot on target (vs Czech Republic) for the first time in its major tournament game.
*With Matthijs de Ligt sent off in this game, Netherlands became the first team in Euro history to have 4 players expelled. All were registered in the games against Czechoslovakia (both in 1976) and Czech Republic (2004, 2020)!
*Matthijs de Ligt’s red card is the first ever in Euro history assigned after VAR examination.
*Belgium matched the record of Germany (set in 2010-12) and Italy (since 2018) on consecutive wins in the games of European championships (including qualification) – 14.
*Belgium fielded in the game vs Portugal (1-0) 5 players with 100+ caps. The “centurions” were Jan Vertonghen (130 caps), Axel Witsel (113),Toby Alderweireld (112), Eden Hazard (111) and Dries Mertens (101).
*The substitution of De Bruyne in the game vs Portugal, due to injury, became the fastest ever made in Euro history in 2nd halftime (at 47 minutes 31 seconds).
*With Eden Hazard scoring for Belgium at Euro 2016 and brother Thorgan at Euro 2020, the duo have become only the third pair of siblings to score at the European Championships after Frank and Ronald De Boer (Netherlands) and Michael and Brian Laudrup (Denmark).
*Pepe (Portugal) became the oldest outfield player (age: 38 years and 121 days) to start a European Championships knockout match.
