*The first goal of Euro 2020 happened on the 53rd minute of the game Turkey – Italy when Merih Demiral sent the ball into his own net with a chest after a strong cross fom Domenico Berardi. This is the first time in European Championship history that the first goal of the tournament has been an own goal.
*Italy's 3-0 victory over Turkey is the biggest margin of victory in the opening match at a Euro final tournament.
*The Italian national team has now 28 matches in a row without defeat. Italy suffered its last defeat in September 2018 (0-1 from Portugal in the League Nations). This is the second longest streak in the history of the national team.
The record was set in the period from 1935 to 1939 when Italy did not lose 30 games in a row with Vittorio Pozzo as a coach.
*Also Italy continues its winning streak: now 9 wins in a row.

*Gianluigi Donnarumma became the youngest ever goalkeeper to play for Italy at a major tournament (World Cup and Euro): at the age of 22 years 106 days. Previously, the record holder was Giorgio Ghezzi (23 years, 342 days).
*Turkey has conceded in the first game of finals as many goals (3) as in the whole qualifying set (10 games) for Euro2020!
*Turkey continued its series of defeats in its opening matches at every major tournament (World Cup and Euro): they lost 7 such games out of 7! No other team who played at more than 3 such tournaments was defeated in every one of its opening matches.
